FAQ

Short answers. The numbers live on the country pages and on Methodology.

Why does a DKK peg still lose purchasing power?

Denmark imports euro debasement through the peg. A stable DKK/EUR rate is not stable money. Purchasing-power loss on the Denmark page is 18.3%. Maastricht debt was 26.8% of GDP in Q1 2026. Low debt does not stop the imported loss.

Does an own currency (SEK, PLN) protect you?

No. SEK and PLN are still fiat, still expandable. Purchasing-power loss is 25.0% on the Sweden page and 36.6% on the Poland page. An independent central bank is not a hard cap.

Why Bitcoin, not “crypto”?

Bitcoin has a fixed supply of 21 million. No central bank can create more. The unit is sats. This site is not a coin-casino.

Where should I buy bitcoin?

Strike is the only place this site trusts. Not an affiliate link. It is simply the bitcoin provider we consider best. Buying is the first step. If it sits on an exchange, you still rely on someone else. Keys belong on a hardware wallet. Buy bitcoin on Strike.

Why Blockstream Jade only?

Open-source, air-gapped, built for Bitcoin. That is why this site points at Jade and nowhere else. Keys and setup: self-custody.

Is this financial advice?

No. Educational. Charts are snapshots, not a recommendation to buy or sell. How they are built is on the Methodology page.

Are the charts live?

No. Committed ECB and Eurostat snapshots with as-of dates. Not a live feed. HICP on this site is as of July 2026 (2026 = January–July). See Methodology.

Which country lost the most purchasing power?

Among the sixteen live country pages, Hungary has the largest purchasing-power loss in the committed snapshot: 43.5% since 2015 (own-currency table on the countries index). Romania is 41.4%. Poland is 36.6%. The ranking of what €100 still buys uses the same HICP snapshot, not a live feed.

How does my country compare to the euro area?

Each of the sixteen live country pages shows a euro-area 2026 bar next to that country’s bar, from the same HICP snapshot, not a live feed. The countries index ranking includes euro area as a reference row, not a seventeenth country page. See Germany for an example, and Methodology.

Protect yourself. Take self-custody.

Buying Bitcoin is only the first step. If it sits on an exchange, you still rely on someone else.

A hardware wallet lets you hold your own keys. Blockstream Jade is currently one of the best options: fully open-source, air-gapped, and built for Bitcoin.
